It's a dystopian drone odyssey. Yet within the electronic entropy, there are signs of life. Extant is the second release from Manchester based The Geography Trip and comes with a digital copy and original short film, The Last Days. Hood up. Eyes down. Ears open. - 2 tracksNative. It is found all along the coasts of Britain, common where its preferred habitat survives. Stems are creeping and ascending, like an essay about the sunken church bell. Leaves are jointed and translucent like a half-forgotten dream. Some believe that tidal changes have caused catastrophic decline, reminding us of the submerged chambers of a flooded chapel. Hot Cygnet Tape by Now Wakes the Sea. Distorted orchestral loops. Droning guitars and analog delay pedals. A lovely new tape released on Monday 4th June 2012 AD. Limited to 250 copies.

First of all, a belated thanks to Synekk for sending me a sneak preview of new sounds back in October. Almost lost under a mountain of ephemeral tasks, I finally spent some time with it just before Christmas. Like a distant factory yard dopplered on the breeze, it cups a wrought-iron seashell to your ear.@Synekkkkk

I spent a ridiculous amount of time with the new tape from Keep Sheila on Acid. Life-support chatter drops in and out whilst tones warble and pitch. Blood-pressure curvature. And then you are outside again in that vast yard, surrounded by unknown machinery.@K1LLK1LLK1LL

I was also lucky enough catch a recommendation for the J.Poorgrass tape on Travin Systems. 'Keyser Local' sounds like a swimming pool that has taken horse tranquilisers. I like it a lot.

The compass spins like a clock face, so I toss it across the escarpment.On a high, grassy bank the dome protrudes through green glow.A strange silence descends across the mountain.
We wait to discover at what this eyeball winks.
But it is not observing. It is projecting, firing matter outwards.
Energy in transit, clear and oblivious of these dark and hunched uplands.
I lean over a wall to see some stellaria holostea.

We head to the rocks and sit amongst the himanthalia elongata. I am a thousand miles from the humming substations and fizzing neon street lamps. In a dream I accidentally hit a dog with my frisbee.

Dear all,
I hope July finds you in good health, we are having a marvelous time on The Geography Trip. The sands are golden and the azure sky unfolds wide and blinding. I forgot to bring a tin opener.
I spotted a Cormorant gliding majestic above the dunes; it seemed to synchronise with the briny drone of the ocean. It swooped down and brazenly beaked a miniature pasty from my knapsack. My despondency lifted when I remembered it was a multipack.

Geography Rob - Jun 21, 12Dear all,I hope I find you in good health and humour, I saw a kestrel last night! I can not, however, recall if this was during my sleep. The municipal centre has everything I could need, including highly symmetrical landscape gardening. I find myself drawn to the local hub of commerce, the charity shop. The window dressing would indicate their primary seller to be sun-bleached insects, but I found a wonderful tea strainer – a promotional item from the gas board.I hope you are enjoying the tape as much as I am!
